The Yuza Distillery – Journey So Far
Since beginning production in 2018, Yuza Distillery has quietly established its own identity within the new generation of Japanese whisky.
This masterclass explores the journey and milestones that have shaped Yuza so far, culminating in a closer look at one of the distillery’s latest releases – Yuza Single Malt Japanese Whisky Fairy in Summer.
Rather than simply tasting the finished whisky, guests will have the opportunity to pull the release apart and explore some of the component whiskies behind it, including spirit matured in highly prized Japanese Mizunara oak. Tasted side by side, the components offer a fascinating look at how individual casks contribute to the structure, flavour and final character of a Yuza release.
The session will be hosted by Mr Sato from Yuza Distillery, who will guide guests through the distillery’s development, the milestones along the way and the whisky-making decisions behind Fairy in Summer.
It’s a chance to discover not only where Yuza is today, but how the individual pieces come together to create its whisky.
The tasting will feature:
- Yuza Single Malt Japanese Whisky Fairy in Summer
- A selection of component whiskies used to explore the construction of the release
- Mizunara cask matured Yuza whisky
You must have an Abbey ticket for the day of the Masterclass to attend.
