Kameda – Whisky From Snow Country
Barley, Casks and the Spirit of Niigata
From the snow country of Niigata comes one of the newer names in Japanese whisky – Niigata Kameda Distillery.
Beginning production in 2021, Kameda has spent its early years developing a distinctive house style built around sweetness, fruit and a long finish, using the clear waters of the Agano River and the changing climate of Niigata to shape its whisky.
In 2025, the distillery reached an important milestone with the launch of its Zodiac Series, its first ongoing series of Single Malt Japanese Whisky releases and the beginning of a new chapter for Kameda.
Hosted by founder and Chief Production Officer Hiroyuki Doda, this masterclass will introduce Whisky Abbey guests to the story of Kameda, its approach to whisky making and the evolution of the distillery so far.
Across four whiskies, Doda-san will take us inside one of Japan’s emerging distilleries and offer a glimpse at where Kameda is heading next.
Exact line up to be announced.
You must have an Abbey ticket for the day of the Masterclass to attend.
